Acting is not wresthing

Acting is not wresthing
More than three decades after he acted as the main protagonist in ‘Albert Pinto ko gussa kyon aata hai’, veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah still seems to get angry at the slightest provocation.
His short temper was evident when the thespian, who flew down to the State Capital to promote his latest flick ‘Chaalis Chourasi’, was asked some questions by journos here.
“How did you feel when you shared screen space with veteran thespian Dilip kumar in Shubhash Ghai’s ‘Karma’,” was a specific query to Naseer who was seated along with other actors Ravi Kishan and Atul Kulkarni. “Acting is not like kushti (wresting), where you (mediamen) keep on writing that this actor defeated that actor, and vice versa. So please stop comparing one actor with another, as we are not wrestlers,” a miffed Naseer said, refusing to be drawn into any controversy. Acting is a collective effort where actors perform together, and not against each other,” he added. His angst against the current crop of filmmakers was also evident when he said,” You can’t make a film on the farmers of UP or Bihar by staying in Malabar Hills (Mumbai).” He was referring to the mushroom growth of arm-chair script writers whose content lacked depth.
The actor who has left a deep imprint with his acting prowessbe it ‘A Wednesday’ or’ The Dirty Picture’- said, ”The script is the most important factor before I give my nod to do a movie.
